CERAMIC SCULPTURE
I enjoy handling clay. It responds so easily to the touch… I push it…I pull it…the plasticity is seductive! My fingers feel the beauty of the forms as they emerge. Because my process is one of improvisational discovery, each piece has the freedom to go where it will. As the clay hardens it resists my touch—and, it is what it is.
Color! I love intense color—my art has it and so does my sculpture.

ABSTRACT ART
My art explores the expressive power of abstraction—it is a dramatic presentation of form and color. I work intuitively so that I have freedom from any preconception and can work spontaneously. On completion,
I see that each piece tells a story, and I could give it a descriptive name, but
I don’t—that would inhibit the fun of discovery by each viewer.
My art starts as images, sometimes photographed and sometimes sketched.
They are then combined (or collaged), and color enhanced. The high resolution images are printed on archival pearl metallic photographic paper.

I love wood! I confess, it’s a love affair that began in junior high woodshop, and has continued throughout my homebuilding years. I designed and built the trim and decorative accessories in the kitchens and patios, as well as fire place mantles, and custom furniture.
